Scope: NASS Cattle on Feed, feedlots with capacity of 1,000+ head (QuickStats domain CAPACITY: (1,000 OR MORE HEAD)). On feed = inventory on the 1st of the month; placements, marketings and other disappearance are flows during the month. NASS split the top placement weight group (800+ lb) into 800-899 / 900-999 / 1,000+ lb in 2016. Steers / heifers on feed are published quarterly (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct 1); cows & bulls on feed were discontinued after Jan 2013.
